Suffolk On Board website have announced that newly formed Beccles based Borderbus have been given their first service route. They have won the tender to operate the 521 Halesworth - Aldeburgh service which runs via Yoxford, Saxmundham and a lot of tiny villages! Currently this service is oiperated by Nightingales using a Mercedes Beaver type vehicle, so it will be interesting to see what Borderbus use as so far I have only heard of them owning deckers and their O licence only covers them for 5 vehicles. Borderbus take over the route on 31st March and yours truly will be out to see what happens. For the Suffolk On Board page click

Update: Borderbus MD Andrew Pursey has told East Norfolk Bus Blog that a low floor bus wil be introduced on the route as opposed to using deckers.

Hello Steve I looked at suffolk on board but couldn't see any update info on the 521 it still shows as the current tenders unless I am looking in the wrong place Border have 6 vehicles on their licence. they had a 4th president shown as purchased last month but yes will be nice to see what they use.
ReplyDeleteI have added the link to the relevant page on the post, buddy.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mr W I couldn't find that lol must be my age
ReplyDeleteIt's not that obvious to be honest - you have to click on "timetables and leaflets", then "changes to passenger services" and then the month you require. Since when have Council run things been simple!
ReplyDeleteHad a squiz up there Wednesday all 4 deckers were there but no new bus yet
ReplyDeletePlease not a Dart - anything but a Dart!
ReplyDeleteThere's a few solo's on ebay at reasonable prices don't think a big saloon is needed unless you suddenly get 40+ billy's needing to go to halesworth lol
ReplyDeleteYeah that makes sense.
