Ollie Video
I was in Yarmouth yesterday for no particular reason other than I hadn't been there for three weeks and didn't fancy Norwich. Unfortunately when I got there I realised I had left my camera at home, which was a tad annoying. However I was rescued by the emergence of 34111 on the 1350 to Belton. As we crossed Haven Bridge I had the idea to use my phone to take a video of the journey to Gorleston. What I didn't know is that it would take over 7 hours to upload to YouTube! Anyway here it is, enjoy and next week I'll attempt to record the same journey on a President so you can compare.

I travelled on what must be one of the oldest Olympians in revenue service, L305 PWR (34305), this week in Essex. They are smooth, warm and comfortable. Shame the Presidents can't live up to a 20 year old bus!
ReplyDeleteI really must get on that bus before she is retired. Is she out everyday, or only used as a spare? I understand she is at Braintree these days so used on the 70's?
DeleteIt was part of the Chelmsford fleet, but it has been working the 70 daily for the last week. I'm not sure if the bus has been transferred to Braintree permanently, or just while work is taking place around the bridge at Chelmsford railway station. Before, it was used quite regularly on the service 42 to Broomfield Hospital, it was always fun to watch the bus squeeze under the rail bridge at the bus station!
